Categories and Criteria

The Seatrade Asia Awards is designed to celebrate and reward excellence and innovation in the maritime sector across the region over the previous 12 months. The judges will therefore be assessing the entries in all categories according to the following six fundamental principles and their industry specific points listed below.

• Contribution and commitment to the development of the maritime sector across the region;

• Innovation, either technical, operational or commercial;

• Commitment to safety & quality;

• Social & environmental responsibilities;

• Business enterprise and achievement;

• Engagement with training and development of personnel

Below listed are the award categories and their industry specific criteria;

1. The Environment Protection Award sponsored by

• New technology or significant improvements to existing technology that can reduce or

      prevent marine and atmospheric pollution or assist in the cleanup of same

• Emergency response strategies

2. The Education & Training Award sponsored by

• Exceptional initiatives taken to enhance shipping standards through training and education

• Training methodology and facilities

3. The Technical Innovation Award sponsored by

• Project / Product with the potential to significantly improve efficiency of any aspects of ships operations and/or cargo

• Originality, imagination and perceived practicality of the project/product.
